A leather derby developed as an adaptable footwear system, combining traditional shoemaking with modular components and industrial detailing. Drawing on GR10K's ongoing research into protective equipment, the design references the detachable boot covers, gaiters and shielding systems used by welders and industrial trades, reinterpreting them as functional accessories within everyday footwear.

Constructed from premium dark brown calf leather, the Asphalt Derby II is supplied with a removable silver patent leather lace cover featuring reversible GR10K branding, allowing the component to be worn on either side or removed entirely. A removable Hypalon strap further extends the system, enabling the shoe to transition between a stripped-back leather derby and a more protective configuration while preserving its refined, utilitarian character.
